Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Three women who grew up together in an orphanage get together at least once a year to share the joys and sorrows of their lives.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): One of the women is named Isabel (Margaret Lindsay) and has an affair which leads to her getting divorced from her husband (John Litel). Her ex-husband then starts dating her childhood friend Fay (Ann Sheridan). Isabel has a daughter named Judy (Janet Chapman) who is living with the former husband and Fay. Isabel has fallen on hard times with her gambler, the man she cheated with, but begs Fay to let her take Judy for just one day. She takes Judy back to her apartment and surprises her with a tiny ginger tabby kitten.

Judy pets the kitten in the strangest way.

They then feed the kitten some milk from a bowl on the floor.

Fay’s gambler husband (Richard Bond) comes home and wants nothing to do with the child. Isabel takes Judy and the kitten into another room.

When Isabel leaves to make a phone call, some thugs come in demanding money from the gambler. Judy walks out of the bedroom and the kitten follows her.

The gambler is killed and the thugs take Isabel and Judy with them but not the kitten. When the police show up, one officer points out that the kitten may be the only witness but can’t talk.

Final Mewsings: Cats are not squealers!
