Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: The investigation of the murder of Diane Mercer (Barbara Michaels) is personal for Capt. Amos Burke (Gene Barry), head of the Hollywood homicide division — she was an ex-girlfriend and they’d had a dinner date on the very night of her death. Assisted by Detectives Tim Tilson (Gary Conway) and Les Hart (Regis Toomey), Burke learns more about his former flame than he suspected, and uncovers a sordid trail of blackmail and betrayal which leads to the inevitable solution of the crime.
Kitty Cameo: While taking an evening stroll in the park with her beau (whose face is unseen), Diane is surprised when a black cat hops from a bench and crosses her path. Playfully, she insists that her date turn a complete circle to counter the ‘bad luck.’

Final Mewsings: Nope, you can’t blame this murder on a black cat — human agencies were entirely responsible.
