Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Story (based loosely on facts) about two mice, Buster (voiced by Jim Cummings) and Chauncey (voiced by Phil Hartman) and their involvement in the writing of the classic Christmas song Silent Night.
Cartoon Cat: The town of Oberndorf is expecting the Queen to visit for their Christmas celebrations and as such the townspeople want everything in order. A large orange tabby cat named Dolf is in charge of keeping the town free of mice.
Of course this makes things difficult for Buster and Chauncey as they approach the town only to by stampeded by all the mice who are running away from the cat.
Most of the scenes involve Dolf chasing the mice around in Tom and Jerry fashion with things getting destroyed in their wake, including most of the church where the celebrations are to take place.
Dolf is scolded at every turn and doesn’t even get any credit when his chasing Buster helps reveal some thieves who tried to frame an angelic orphan when they steal the royal jewels.
Final Mewsings: Cats take their job seriously. That doesn’t make them bad.
