Cat Out Of The Bag Alert! This review contains a spoiler for this film.
Synopsis: In this uneven exploration of the minefield that is the modern dating scene, college sophomore Margot (Emilia Jones) finds the reality of dating Robert (Nicholas Braun), an older man with whom she’s been enjoying a flirty text relationship, doesn’t match her projection of the man she thought he was.
Purr Blurs: After their first official date, they go to Robert’s house where there is no sign of the cats Mu and Yan he has mentioned in his texts. Much later in the film Margot returns to Robert’s house where she confronts him about whether he has been stalking her. A struggle ensues during which Margot opens a door leading to the basement allowing two cats, a calico and a ginger and white tabby, to come running out.

According to IMDb trivia, actor Nicholas Braun was said to have adopted his characters’ cats after shooting for the film was completed. The animal actors were provided by All Tame Animals with Nancy Novograd the animal wrangler.

Final Mewsings: A true cat person wouldn’t close his kitties in the basement.
