Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A little girl named Elisa (voiced by Violet Avouac) has difficulty letting go of the past after moving into a new home with her parents and her orange cat Roger, the latter of which undergoes a curious transformation.
Cartoon Cat: The short begins with Elisa moving into an apartment with her mom and dad (voiced respectively by Kristine Gray and Joseph Marshall) and her chonky orange cat Roger.
Elisa is not happy but Roger hasn’t a care in the world; he just likes being with her.
On the threshold of their new home, Elisa is still angry.
But once they step inside, something strange happens to Roger. He turns into a goldfish in a cat shaped bowl!
After her parents refuse to even acknowledge what happened, Elisa travels to their old house to try to get the cat to change back.
There Elisa is surrounded by memories which threaten to envelope her completely.
This is a touching short with an important deeper message.
Final Mewsings: Now if we could only find an apartment that turns goldfish into cats!
