Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A little girl named Catherine (voiced by Madi) has no luck with pets until she gets a cat, who is not only resilient but comforting.
Cartoon Cats: We must start out by saying this is an animated short filled with dark humor and themes of death and depression, so be warned! After going through several other animals, Catherine gets a little blue kitty. The kitty is able to withstand Catherine’s rough love.
Catherine becomes so involved with her cat she starts wearing a cat hat and sees cats everywhere.
Unfortunately one girl is constantly cruel to her and sends Catherine spiraling into depression. But the kitty brings her out of it and gives her a safe haven.
Eventually Catherine grows into a young woman still comforted by her cat. Unfortunately a tragedy sends her spiralling again.
Things then get stranger and darker when Dwight (voiced by Braden), the boy across the street, stuffs the cat for her. Catherine and Dwight grow old together, living through a series of unfortunate cats.
Final Mewsings: Your cat takes care of you; make sure you take care of your cat!
