Synopsis: Charlie Chan (Warner Oland) arrives in Shanghai where a man is murdered at a banquet, setting off another investigation by the famed detective.

Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): As Chan and a man named James Andrew (Russell Hicks) look for clues in a house, they hear a strange noise nearby. They pinpoint it to a cabinet behind them. Guns drawn, they demand that whoever is inside come out. Chan opens the door and a mama cat steps out, revealing four adorable kittens inside. The men laugh over the false alarm.
