Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Unwilling to forgive Diane’s (Shelley Long) belated acceptance of his proposal, Sam (Ted Danson) plans a romantic weekend to Cape Cod with another woman.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): Carla (Rhea Perlman) enters the bar with a large cardboard box. Woody (Woody Harrelson) notices there is a cat inside. Carla says a guy gave the cat to her on the way in and she figured “Max” would be a good pet for her kids. Woody asks what the name of the little one is and Carla realizes that “Max” is a she and is having kittens. Max is never seen on screen.
Later in the episode, Cliff (John Ratzenberger) is complimenting Carla on the fact that she gave all the kittens away in one night. “Giving away a beer with each kitten really did the trick,” she agrees. Norm (George Wendt) then approaches, finishing a beer. He is covered with kittens! He is holding kittens in his arms and many more are in his pockets.
One of the kittens slips off Norm’s shoulder and falls down his arm, but he does a great job of catching it before it falls.
Norm carries the kittens to the door telling them, “Time for your first cab ride.” He then adds, “You know, you guys are really gonna love Vera, she has legs just like a scratching post.”
One humorous mistake is that this episode is supposed to take place over the course of a weekend, but the kittens are at least several weeks old when Norm takes them home!
Final Mewsings: Kittens grow up fast in a bar!
