Artisan Entertainment
Starring: Mike White, Chris Weitz
Directed by: Miguel Arteta
Synopsis: Buck (Mike White), a man who has never developed past childhood, seeks to reconnect with his former best friend Chuck (Chris Weitz) who has left childish things behind.
Purr Blurs: Early in the film Buck’s mother dies and Chuck comes to the funeral. At the wake Buck is walking around outside. A black cat can be seen briefly in the background.
Later in the film Buck has moved to L.A. and is working with a theater group where he befriends a young boy named Tommy (Gino Buccola). Buck goes to Tommy’s house where Tommy is seen chasing an orange tabby beneath the house. Later in the scene Tommy shows Buck a large firecracker and comments on how he tried to stick one up Siggy’s butt. We assume Siggy is the cat he was chasing earlier. Tommy then injures his hand setting off the firework.
Final Mewsings: Siggy was breathing a sigh of relief.
