Orion Pictures
Starring: Martin Short, Charles Grodin, Mary Steenburgen
Directed by: Paul Flaherty
Synopsis: Clifford Daniels (Martin Short) is a terrifying ten-year-old child who makes life miserable for his Uncle Martin (Charles Grodin) when he unexpectedly comes to visit.
Kitty Cameo: After Martin picks up Clifford from the airport (where his parents have left him), he drives to his girlfriend Sarah’s (Mary Steenburgen) house. Clifford runs inside while Martin tries to get the dog Clifford stole at the airport to cooperate. Upon entering the house, Clifford spots an orange tabby cat sitting on the back of a chair.
Clifford immediately runs at the cat who races away from him with a screech.
The cat jumps out a window and pauses in the yard.
The dog in the car sees the cat and takes chase, pulling Martin along on a leash. The cat runs through a hole in a fence and the dog follows, leaving Martin to crash into the boards behind. Neither the dog or cat is seen again.
Final Mewsings: Cats are good judges of character.
