Directed by: Wash Westmoreland
Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: French writer Colette (Keira Knightley) creates the hugely successful book series around a character named Claudine published under the name of her husband Willy (Dominic West).
Kitty Cameos: A ginger tabby cat is preening itself on Colette’s bed under the opening credits.
Colette pets the cat after her mother calls her to wake up. Sadly this cat is not seen again and when Colette goes to Paris she gets a French Bulldog named Toby Chien.
Near the end of the film a gray tabby is seen as Colette walks through the backstage of a theater.
In real life Colette loved both cats and dogs and even penned the novel La Chatte, later made into a film, as well as Gigi, which also included a cat.
Final Mewsings: We love authors who love cats!
