Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: While chasing a bounty named Decker, Spike (voiced by Kôichi Yamadera) and Faye (voiced by Megumi Hayashibara) cross paths with a wise and worldly female transport driver known as V.T. (Tomie Kataoka).
Cartoon Cat: V.T.’s companion is a grey and white long-haired cat named Zeros. They are first seen exiting V.T.’s “truck.” as another trucker tries to guess what the initials V.T. stand for, hoping to win an ever-growing pile of money from people betting they can guess correctly.
The pair enter a café and bar full of bounty hunters who are waiting for a target named Decker. Zeros sits at the bar and even enjoys a drink.
V.T. thinks little of bounty hunters so when Spike crosses her path he doesn’t let her know that he is one.
When V.T. finds out, she shuns Spike, but Zeros defends him.
Later V.T. finds out that a fellow driver has had a bad run in with the escaping bounty and she sets out to get revenge.
Stuck inside a mining asteroid, V.T. has to work with Spike and Faye to escape.
In the end they escape and Spike correctly guesses V.T.’s identity. Zeros is seen as a kitten in a photo which led Spike to guess correctly.
Final Mewsings: See you, Space Cat!
