Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Violet Sanford (Piper Perabo) is an aspiring songwriter who heads to New York seeking fame and fortune but takes a job bartending at a place where the women dance on the bar.
Kitty Cameo: When Violet moves from New Jersey to her new apartment she has a cat carrier with her. As she is showing her friend Gloria (Melanie Lynskey) the run-down place we first see her cat, a tabby with white markings.
The cat, who is never called by name, is only seen in a few scenes, once looking up at Violet after she starts working at Coyote Ugly and has made some money.
In one scene Violet comes home to find her apartment was robbed but she never once calls out for her cat, which is somewhat unbelievable. The cat must have presumably hidden itself away during the robbery because he or she turns up again later, jumping on the bed next to Violet while she listens to a message on her answering machine.
Final Mewsings: Who doesn’t call for their cat first thing when their apartment is robbed?
