Starring: Bert Wheeler, Robert Woolsey
Directed by: Edward Cline
Synopsis: Wendell (Bert Wheeler) hopes to impress the girl he loves (Dorothy Lee) and even moreso her aunt (Edna May Oliver) by backing a revolution in the tiny country of El Dorania and becoming king, but he finds opposition from Zander Ulysses Parkhurst (Robert Woolsey), a gambler who has won the country’s crown in a game of craps.
Kitty Cameo: In one scene, Wendell and Zander find themselves in a brandy cellar and imbibe in some hundred year old brew. At the end of the scene they are feeling no pain, but Zup notices a black cat drinking some brandy from a drip pan on the floor.
The cat walks away, shaking its back leg behind it as if having a fit from the drinking. Zup steps back with Wendell, commenting, “Careful, don’t let him kick ya!”
Final Mewsings: Cats usually don’t get a kick out of liquor.
