Synopsis: The Barrett family experience a series of increasingly disturbing and terrifying events in their home which lead them to believe they are being visited by unearthly entities.
Cat Cattle Call: Late in the film Lacy (Keri Russell) and Daniel Barrett (Josh Hamilton) go to the apartment of an expert in alien encounters named Edwin Pollard (J.K. Simmons). As they enter his home they find he owns several cats.
The couple sit down on a couch with the cats, one of which takes a swipe at Daniel.
Pollard explains that the cats don’t seem to be disturbed by the aliens as dogs do.
Cat actors Dexter, Roscoe and Salem from Performing Animal Troupe are all credited as performing in this scene.
Final Mewsings: Cats are apparently cool with aliens.
