Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: The biographical story of Winston Churchill (Gary Oldman) when he became Prime Minister at the time England was questioning its involvement in World War II.
Kitty Cameo: Churchill was a known cat lover and this is reflected in an early scene in the film. A new secretary named Clemmie (Kristin Scott Thomas) comes to call on Churchill in his bedroom one morning. Churchill is introduced as lying in bed lighting a cigar. A ginger tabby cat is standing on the end of the bed and jumps down.
Later when Churchill’s wife enters the room to chastise him about his treatment of the new girl he is on the floor complaining that the War Cabinet has been calling, then adds, “Bloody cat’s under the bed again.”
Final Mewsings: Cats know to steer clear of politics.
