Synopsis: Barbershop owner Eddie Mendover (Eric Portman) has a secret life as England’s official hangman, but things get even more complicated when he claims to be the son of a deceased man to collect an inheritance then falls for a wayward woman named Frankie (Ann Todd).
Purr Blur: Near the end of the film an establishing shot of the barber shop and the street outside includes a black cat sauntering down the early morning street.




Final Mewsings: Cat’s lives are not nearly as complicated as some men’s.
