Synopsis: A screen version of the classic German fairy tale, this time taking place in a European setting (as opposed to the Middle East). Guided by Mr. Moon (Gustav Waldau) Kleiner Muck (Willi Puhlmann) sets out to rescue the kidnapped Princess Mareile (Christa Berndl) and Prince Goldhaar (Christian Fiedler) who are being held prisoner by a giant named Bumbo (Viktor Gehring).
Cat Cattle Call: Setting out on his quest, Kleiner Muck ends up in the village where the witch Frau Ahavzie (Elise Aulinger) lives. As he enters the village a group of kids are taunting the old woman and her cats.

Kleine Muck steps forward and chases the kids away, getting on Ahavzie’s good side. She invites him into her home.

She immediately puts Muck to work caring for her numerous cats. Her dog keeps trying to help Muck break into a locked space where she keeps her magic shoes and cane but both the poor animal and Muck are scolded by the woman.

Muck has to feed Ahavzie’s many kittens who are sitting around a table wearing little bibs as they dine on fish and milk.

Eventually Muck is able to let the dog back inside and he scares all the cats away before helping Muck is finally able to steal the items which will help him save the kidnapped Prince and Princess.

Final Mewsings: Of course cats like to be served but that doesn’t make them bad.
