Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Based on the novels by Douglas Adams. Hotel bellboy Todd Brotzman (Elijah Wood) finds his life turned upside down when Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett) suddenly shows up after a series of bizarre happenings.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The series opens with a camera panning through a gruesome crime scene in the penthouse of a hotel. Blood is everywhere and bodies have been ripped apart. As the camera settles on the legs of a dead man sticking out of the bathroom, a small black kitten suddenly appears, leaving bloody paw prints on a carpet.
A hand then reaches down and picks up the kitten.
Near the end of the episode Dirk Gently is seen entering Todd’s apartment carrying a duffel bag. Some tough guys had been asking the hotel manager if he had seen the kitten at the crime scene. Dirk opens the bag and pulls out the black kitten.
Because the cat is even featured on the artwork for the series it’s safe to assume we will be seeing a lot more of him (or her!) And this little fluffball may not actually be as cuddly as it first appears!
Final Mewsings: Kittens are cute even at gruesome crime scenes.
