According to the commentary on the DVD, the cat’s name was Noakes, born in 1964. Apparently the cat was hired to hiss and arch her back at an evil creature creeping nearby (actuality a hat being pulled across the ground). The action was even in specified in the cat’s contract, but Noakes refused to perform the act even when shown several dogs.
