Hal Roach Studios
Starring: Bobby ‘Wheezer’ Hutchins, Blanche Payson
Directed by: Robert McGowan
Synopsis: Wheezer (Bobby Hutchins) and his sister Dorothy (Dorothy DeBorba) are stuck living with a mean stepmother (Blanche Payson) and her bratty son Spud (Sherwood Bailey), who tries to get Pete the Pup taken away from them.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The tabby cat which has appeared in other shorts around this time returns for a recurring sight gag. In the opening scene the mother has Dorothy pour her some coffee. As she eats her toast she dunks it into the coffee first and then flicks off the excess, spraying the poor cat who is trying to sleep nearby. This happens three times in a row.
Later in the short Stymie (Beard) has cooked breakfast for Wheezer and Dorothy and they all sit down to eat. Wheezer is dunking his toast in his milk and flicking it away, also hitting the cat. After the second time the cat has had enough and runs away.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t like people with no table manners.
