Du côtè de la côte (1958)

Argos Films
Narrated by:
 Roger Coggio, Anne Olivier
Directed by: Agnès Varda

Synopsis: A travelogue of the French Riviera, or Côte d’Azur, with a sarcastic and humorous twist.

Kitty Cameo: This documentary is in the style of Agnes Varda through and through, and as such includes a cat, as does many of her films.  In this instance the cat is seen sitting inside a large tree, which the narrators explain is a giant elm, planted in the time of Sully, in Ramatuelle.

The cat is then seen climbing the tree before the film moves on to other catless trees.

Final Mewsings: Cats of the French Riviera climb trees to avoid documentary filmmakers.
