Directed by: William Oldroyd
Synopsis: Eileen (Thomasin McKenzie) is an unsatisfied young woman working at a boy’s correction facility who is intrigued by the arrival of worldly and independent-minded psychologist Rebecca (Anne Hathaway) who changes Eileen’s life in unexpected ways.
Purr Blur: After being asked by Rebecca to come over, Eileen arrives at the given address and rings the doorbell. Rebecca answers the door holding a feisty and fidgety curly-haired Persian cat (possibly a Selkirk Rex) which snarls and struggles as Rebecca places the kitty outside. “I think that cat’s possessed,” Rebecca offers by way of explanation after closing the door. The cat’s behavior is explained as the story progresses.

The trainers on the film were Dorothy and William Berloni of Theatrical Animals who used a thin line attached to the cat actor’s collar to make sure the kitty couldn’t bolt. In fact Anne Hathaway handed the cat directly to one of the trainers just off screen.

Final Mewsings: If you were about to be put out on a cold night you’d kick up a fuss, too!
