Synopsis: Several serious cases are happening in the emergency room while a scandal brews about a couple caught making out on security cameras.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Abby (Maura Tierney) and Chuney (Laura Cerón) are talking to an elderly patient named Roxanne (Charlotte Rae) who has come to the E.R. with high blood pressure after running out of her medication. Abby informs Roxanne that she needs to see a regular doctor to get her meds refilled but Roxanne insists that after her doctor retired she can’t find anyone she likes. As they are talking and Abby is sneezing, Roxanne suddenly pulls an adorable ginger tabby kitten named Purdy out of her purse.
Abby scolds Roxanne saying, “Hey! You’re not supposed to have that in here!” but Roxanne scoffs, “Oh, she’s just a baby!” Abby gives the woman a two weeks supply refill and leaves with Chuney, complaining, “Who has twenty seven cats? Disgusting. I hate cats.”
Later in the episode Roxanne is still hanging around and hands Purdy to Frank (Troy Evans) who coos over the little kitten.
Frank shows Purdy to Tony (John Stamos) who feigns interest only to have an excuse to knock Frank’s paperwork to the floor. Frank hands Purdy back to Roxanne.
At this point Dawn (Angel Laketa Moore) approaches the desk and spots the kitten and gets excited.
Abby appears and asks Roxanne what she’s still doing there. She then instructs Dawn to see the woman on her way home.
