Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains a MAJOR spoiler for this film!
Synopsis: Detective John Hobbes (John Hobbes) is concerned when a string of murders seem to mimic the style of a serial killer who was recently executed.
Purr Blur: In one scene John travels to a remote cabin to investigate the suicide of a former officer. As his car pulls up to the cabin, a tabby cat can barely be seen running across the drive and disappearing into the basement of the place.
Kitty Cameo: The spirit of the serial killer is jumping from person to person and at one points takes up residence inside an orange tabby cat who watches John through a window in an office of the police building.
The cat jumps down and runs around to the front of the station.
The cat then rubs up against the legs of a taxi driver and the evil spirit leaves the cat and enters the man.
Purr Blur Turned Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): We warn again this gives away the end of the movie! John returns to the remote cabin with the idea of isolating the spirit so that when John kills himself the spirit will have nowhere to go. However, John either didn’t notice or forgot about the cat and sure enough the spirit enters the tabby we had seen earlier hiding in the basement.
The spirit brags about still being alive as the cat moves away from the bloody scene.
The cat actors were trained and provided by Birds and Animals Unlimited.
Final Mewsings: It pays to notice cats!
