Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this special!
Synopsis: Garfield (voiced by Lorenzo Music) is excited about Thanksgiving until the veterinarian puts him on a diet.
Cartoon Cat: The special begins with Garfield and Odie trying to wake up Jon to feed them.
Garfield discovers a vet visit on the calendar and removes the page, only to discover Thanksgiving is the next day.
Garfield and Jon go grocery shopping but then Jon takes Garfield to the vet.
As Jon tries to get a date with Liz, the veterinarian, she declares Garfield should go on a diet. She also finally agrees to join Jon for Thanksgiving dinner.
At home Garfield is not happy about his low calorie diet.
He’s even less thrilled when Jon appoints Odie his overseer.
The next day Jon starts making dinner . . . with a frozen turkey. Needless to say it does not go well.
Liz arrives and after Garfield acts weak and feeble she relents and takes him off his diet.
Now that Garfield can eat he is determined to save the hopeless Thanksgiving dinner which he does by getting Jon to call in his grandmother.
Grandma saves the day and a nice meal is finally served.
Final Mewsings: Cats may love Thanksgiving but too much food does not love them!
