This review contains a minor Kitty Carnage Warning!
Synopsis: Sir Hugo Coal (Alan Bates) is too wrapped up in reconstructing the bones of a dinosaur to notice that his wife (Theresa Russell) has taken a particular liking to their butler, Fledge (Sting). But he does put his foot down when his daughter Cleo (Lena Headey) announces her engagement to Sidney (Steven Mackintosh), an aspiring poet. However, when Sidney disappears, the family is forced to uncover some dark secrets.
Kitty Cameo: As Sir Hugo enters the local pub a ginger tabby can be seen sitting on the bar.
Acting out how his dinosaur would have moved when hunting, Sir Hugo approaches the already pensive-looking cat.
Slight Kitty Carnage Warning! Reaching the cat he seizes it harshly by the scruff and holds it up, motioning with a curved knife how the dinosaur would kill its prey.
Local farmer George (Jim Carter) intervenes and rescues the cat before comforting it after its ordeal.
After Coal has calmed down, he even toasts the cat.
Final Mewsings: And gentlemen certainly don’t roughly manhandle cats!
