Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Gabe (Bradley Steven Perry) deals with some complications surrounding his first crush while Mrs. Dabney (Patricia Belcher) asks Teddy (Bridgit Mendler) to take care of her precious cat Kaboodles while she’s on vacation.
Featured Feline: Kaboodles is a beautiful calico-colored Maine Coon cat. We first see him when Mrs. Dabney drops him off at the Duncan home.
Mrs. Dabney is concerned that Kaboodles might be upset when she leaves so she has Teddy act like a mouse to distract him.
Later Teddy is sitting on the couch with Kaboodles and notes how the cat doesn’t do much of anything.
Kitty Cameo: Mrs. Dabney’s twin sister, Virginia, shows up for a playdate between her cat, Stanley (a tuxedo Maine Coon) and Kaboodles.
She notes right away that Kaboodles is usually excited to see Stanley and worries Teddy that something is wrong with the cat and her sister will be upset.
Teddy brings in Kaboodle’s vet, who turns out to be pet therapist Dr. Tish Tushy (Rose Abdoo). She checks Kaboodles over and says the cat feels abandoned and needs to know Teddy cares.
In the final scenes when the girl Gabe has a crush on comes over he hurries to Teddy for help since he has lied about several things they need to cover. He finds Teddy wearing Kaboodles in a baby carrier on her chest. When he asks why she’s wearing a cat she explains she’s readjusting Kaboodle’s aura.
Teddy wears Kaboodles all through the following scene as she improvises explanations trying to cover up Gabe’s lies. And that’s when things get really kooky.
Final Mewsings: Cats get bored, especially with people doing mouse impersonations.
