Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: The heated rivalry between two old neighbors, John Gustafson (Jack Lemmon) and Max Goldman (Walter Mathau) is strained even further when a beautiful new neighbor (Ann-Margret) catches their eyes.
Kitty Cameo: John Gustafson owns a long-haired calico cat named Slick which appears briefly in only a few scenes in the film. She is first seen lying on John’s bed.
Later John removes her from a chair so he can sit down and watch the lottery numbers being announced on television.
And finally Slick is seen briefly after coming down the stairs when John comes home and calls for her then realizes there is someone else in the house as well.
Final Mewsings: How can anyone be grumpy with a cat for company?
