This review contains a Kitty Carnage Warning!
Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Three brothers (John Polonia, Mark Polonia, Todd Michael Smith) suffer from horrifying hallucinations when they are left home alone in this early offering from the noted low-budget horror directors.
Featured Feline: A longhair tortoiseshell and white cat is the special pet of Mark. She is first seen in her litter box near the beginning of the movie.
While John is looking for a magazine, the cat is in the background.
Mark picks up the cat at the bottom of the stairs before heading up (but somehow doesn’t have the cat when he gets upstairs!)
While sleeping, Mark finds himself in the basement holding his cat, whom he only refers to as Kitty.
Kitty Carnage Warning! Suddenly a chainsaw buzzes to life and goes after the cat. The poor cat is torn to pieces, although in the quick shots of the carnage it is clearly a fake cat. (For anyone even remotely concerned, the filmmakers assured everyone at the end that no animals were harmed in the making of the video).
Later Mark cries over a picture of his lost cat.
He sleeps with a Sylvester the cat plushie instead.
In one hallucination, Mark finds himself back in the basement where a mysterious monk points to his cat, somehow restored to life.
Mark is thrilled to be reunited with his kitty, only to have her suddenly disappear.
Finally an evil Elf doll comes to life and teases Mark by holding up the photo of his cat. “You killed my Kitty!” Mark says, “You did it!” The elf then pees on the photo of the cat. To which Mark yells, “You’re bad!!” before tearing the taunting toy apart.
Final Mewsings: Don’t disrespect the photo of a guy’s cat!
Many thanks to Wahrhaftig for letting us know about the cat in this film.
