by Linda Kay
Directed by: ChloƩ Zhao
Synopsis: Based on the book by Maggie O’Farrell. A historical speculation on the impact of the death of Shakespeare’s son Hamnet (Jacobi Jupe) on his parents Will (Paul Mescal) and Agnes (Jessie Buckley) as possible inspiration for one of his greatest works.
Kitty Cameo: At one point Hamnet is excited to tell his twin Judith (Olivia Lynes) about some kittens born to the baker’s cat, only to find his sister deathly ill in bed. Much later in the movie, Judith is sitting outside and cradling a small ginger tabby cat, although we never learn whether or not this was one of the aforementioned kittens.

The animal trainer on the film was Charlotte Wilde.

Final Mewsings: The promise of kittens usually does wonders for people’s health.
