Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Jennifer (Stephanie Powers) is thrilled to host her Aunt Renee’s (Eva Gabor) wedding, that is until the groom drops dead after eating the poisoned cake.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Renee’s intended is a spiritual guru named Justin (John Gabriel) who enters the Hart’s home carrying a beautiful silver Persian cat. It is never made clear but one can assume the nameless cat belongs to Renee.
After the introductions are made, Justin sets the cat down. They laugh as the Hart’s dog Freeway licks the kitty on the head. “Oh look, they found each other!” Renee giggles.
After the murder, the Harts and Renee return home to find the place ransacked. Jonathan (Robert Wagner) hears a noise in the kitchen and assumes the intruder is still there. He quietly enters the kitchen and looks around before being startled by the cat, who jumps off the counter then saunters away.
At the end of the episode, Renee has reunited with her former husband Charles (William Windom) and he is carrying the cat as they leave the Hart’s home. Jonathan even pets the kitty on the head.
Final Mewsings: Cats sometimes appreciate a free wash.
