Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: The lives of an heiress (Charlize Theron), an Irish teacher (Stuart Townsend) and a student nurse / stripper (Penélope Cruz) are entangled in Europe during the Spanish Civil War and during World War II.
Kitty Cameo: The heiress, whose name is Gilda (Charlize Theron) lives in an apartment in Paris across the street from a café. The owners of the café, a man and wife, own a tabby cat with white markings who sits on their second floor windowsill with a clear view into Gilda’s apartment.
This is especially notable the last time the cat is seen, as a man lifts the cat from the window before using this vantage point to gain access to a German officer.
The cat is also seen briefly in the café itself on a table with the owner’s wife in the background.
Final Mewsings: A view and free meals. What more does a cat want?
