Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Washington D.C. alderman Mays Gilliam (Chris Rock) is pegged by a political party as their patsy Presidential contender but he turns the tables on them when he starts to gain popularity.
Kitty Cameo: Near the beginning of the film Mays is shown as a man who helps out around the neighborhood. A building is about to be demolished but an elderly woman named Miss Pearl (Gammy Singer) refuses to leave the dangerous area. She insists her cat, Dionne, is inside the building. The woman stands outside shaking a packet of cat treats until the grey cat finally shows herself in the window.
Miss Pearl races inside just as the demolition crew has started the explosion sequence, which can’t be stopped. Mays runs in after the woman and finds her holding Dionne on the second floor.
Mays convinces Miss Pearl that she’s in danger and the two run from the building, Mays holding what is obviously a fake stuffed cat as the building blows up behind them.
Final Mewsings: Cats obviously can’t read warning signs.
