Synopsis: In this pacey, well-crafted cold war thriller a big explosion in the London Docks sees Scotland Yard and MI5 join forces to find those responsible. Meanwhile the bombers, a group of communists, aim to cripple the economy by blowing up power stations across the country, including London’s Battersea Power Station. The investigators face a race against time to identify the terrorists and prevent further attacks.
Kitty Cameo: In the opening scene a city gent in a suit and bowler hat, Percy Ward (Charles Lloyd-Pack), is seen returning to his flat. Once inside he is greeted by a cat cry off screen and immediately picks up a bottle of milk from the table. He greets the longhair tabby and white cat sitting on a nearby chair, “Hello, Tibby, dear. Have you missed me? Yes, of course you have.”

Gathering a saucer from the kitchen he places it on the fire surround and pours some milk into it as Tibby stirs herself and jumps down from the chair. Tibby investigates the milk as West continues to talk to her.

West busies himself around the flat which brings him back near Tibby who he encourages to drink up the milk or he’ll “get a doctor to you.” Ward then continues about his task which reveals him to be not such a benign individual as he first appears.

Final Mewsings: You’d think you could trust a guy who names his cat Tibby.
