Directed by: Raja Gosnell
Synopsis: A boy named Alex (Alex D. Linz) fights off international spies searching his neighborhood for a top-secret microchip.
Kitty Cameos: Alex spies on the neighbors with a telescope. At one point he lets his pet rat Doris have a look through the lens. She sees a large ginger tabby cat licking its lips and beats a hasty retreat.
Later Alex steers his remote control car which is equipped with a video camera inside a neighbor’s house where one of the spies is snooping around. Before finding the spy, the car is confronted by a longhair gray and white tabby cat.
Alex laughs as he revs the car toward the cat, startling the poor animal into retreating with a Poor Cat Screech. The cat even bumps into his own water bowl when trying to get away.
The second cat appears to be Elvis of That Darn Cat fame. The animal actors for the film were supplied by Birds and Animals Unlimited with Dave E. Sousa acting as animal coordinator and Mark A. Echevarria and Susan Humphrey as trainers.
Final Mewsings: People who like rats shouldn’t automatically hate cats!
Many thanks to Mark Murton for letting us know about the cat in this film.
