Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Chris Lloyd (Dirk Bogarde) has just killed a man when a boy named Robbie (Jon Whiteley) stumbles upon the scene, having run away from home after setting his family’s kitchen on fire. Not knowing what else to do, Lloyd makes the pair joint fugitives from the law.

Poor Cat Screech: While Lloyd is sneaking into his apartment one night he hears the sound of a cat screeching somewhere below followed by a dog barking. No cat actually appears on screen.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Much later Lloyd sneaks in through the window of a home looking for food. A tabby cat is lying in the dark living room but lifts their head when Lloyd enters the kitchen.
