Synopsis: Aubrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan) is kidnapped and mutilated by a serial killer but is found alive, only she claims to be a dancer named Dakota.
Kitty Cameo: Aubrey owns a Sphynx cat which is seen a few times in the film, although his name is never mentioned. Aubrey greets the cat after it comes down the stairs in an early scene in the film.
After Aubrey disappears, Agent Julie Bascome (Garcelle Beauvais) is questioning Aubrey’s mother Susan (Julia Ormond) about the last time she saw her daughter. Susan is holding the cat throughout the scene.
Finally Aubrey’s mother and father Daniel (Neal McDonough) bring Dakota home. When the cat appears they are hopeful she will remember she is Aubrey. Instead Dakota just says, “I don’t like cats.”
The cat actor was provided by Birds and Animals Unlimited.
Final Mewsings: How can we sympathize with someone who doesn’t like cats?
