Literal English Translation: The Cat with Jade Eyes
Also Known As: The Cat’s Victims; Watch Me When I Kill
Directed by: Antonio Bido
Synopsis: When cabaret dancer Mara (Paola Tedesco) nearly walks in on a murder at a chemists she finds herself being stalked by the killer who fears she might be able to identify him. Mara moves in with her boyfriend Lukas (Corrado Pani) for protection and, after more killings, he sets out to try and identify the killer before he can get to Mara.
Purr Blur: Despite the title, the only cat seen in the film is an accidental walk-on as Lukas sits in a garden with Mara telling her what he has discovered so far.

The calico cat walks behind them, stops for a while, then turns around and walks back again, but neither acknowledges its presence or even seems aware of it.

Faux Cat: The only other cat in the film is a stuffed toy that appears in a black and white photograph which turns out to be important to the plot.

And again at the film’s conclusion the toy cat from the photo is seen on an office desk beside the photograph as the killer is finally revealed.

Bizarrely, what appears to be a brief close-up insert of the toy cat’s eyes precedes a couple of the killings!

The Italian Poster for the film prominently features what is presumably meant to be a cat’s head even if it does look more like a monkey!

A more recognisable cat’s head features on the cover of the 2021 Blu-ray release.

And cat’s eyes feature on the UK DVD release.

Final Mewsings: Even as stuffed animals, cats can be known to hold a grudge.
