by Linda Kay
Directed by: Abel Gance
Synopsis: Poet and pacifist Jean Diaz (Romuald Joubé) is in love with Edith (Maryse Dauvray) who is married to the abusive François (Séverin-Mars). When both men end up in the trenches during World War I, the horrors of war brings them together on common ground . . . at least for a while.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Near the beginning of the film Jean is entering his home with his mother (Mancini). A frisky Siamese kitten appears and follows them inside. Sadly the kitten does not appear again.

Final Mewsings: Kittens (or anyone for that matter!) should never have to know the horror of war.
