Synopsis: Swiss-German co-production that uses the name but ignores the facts of the Ripper case to present Klaus Kinski as a respected doctor by day who dismembers London prostitutes by night due to being abused by his mother as a child!
Purr Blur: With Inspector Selby (Andreas Mannkopff) failing to make any headway in the case his girlfriend Cynthia (Josephine Chaplin) decides to prove her love for him by making herself a potential victim for the ripper. Walking the foggy, deserted nighttime London streets she ventures down an alley where she encounters . . . a black cat sitting on a barrel which immediately jumps down with a dubbed on poor cat screech and runs off.


Final Mewsings: Cats in horror films know it’s usually safest to make a quick exit.
