Directed by: W.S. Van Dyke
Synopsis: A young American couple, John and Nora Davis (Robert Young and Laraine Day) suffer shock and tragedy in London during the blitz of World War II and struggle to find meaning in their world. John is a reporter and in the course of writing a story about the children orphaned by the war he finds meaning and purpose once again.
Kitty Cameo: In an early scene John is walking the streets of London during an air raid to gather materials for his newspaper stories. As he walks down a darkened street a cat can be heard meowing. We see a doorway in which a striped tabby cat is pacing.
The door opens and a woman gathers the cat into her arms, commenting that the cat can’t be shut outside without any gas mask. She takes the cat inside.
Final Mewsings: The blitz was no time to put the cat out.
