Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Law abiding real estate agent Fred Morrow (Jeff Hunter) is the only witness from over a dozen bystanders willing to testify against puny punk ‘Cowboy’ Tomkins (Dennis Hopper) after seeing his cowardly murder of Emilio Sanchez (Eugene Iglesias), who picked a very bad time to dance with Cowboy’s girl, enthusiastic troublemaker Ruby (Susan Harrison). Fred’s commitment to justice endangers not only his life, but also the lives of his shapely wife Ann (Pat Crowley) and kids Gloria (Terry Burnham) and Phil (Dennis Holmes), who are terrorized by Cowboy’s hoodlum gang.
Kitty Cameo: During a tense dinner time with the Morrows at home, after receiving Cowboy’s initial threat, the family cat meows from outside the house, demanding entry after being locked out. Fred opens the front door, allowing the solid grey cat into the family room where she is quickly gathered up by Gloria, who sets her back down an instant later. Moments after, one of Cowboy’s clique hurls a stone through a window, which is the Morrows’ cue to exit the house and the cat is not seen again.
Final Mewsings: First they lock the cat outside the house, then they lock the cat inside the house!
