Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Alice (Heather Graham) is an American living in London who abandons her steady, sweet romance for an exciting, spur-of-the-moment relationship with mountain climber Adam (Joseph Fiennes) whose unusual behavior makes her start to worry for her safety.
Featured Feline: Alice first meets Adam on a London street and ends up going home with him. As she enters what appears to be his place a cat can be heard meowing. Almost immediately Alice and Adam start making love passionately. They end up on the living room floor where Alice looks up to see a gray shorthaired cat looking at them.
They continue to make love and the cat runs off.
After Alice leaves her boyfriend for Adam she returns to the house and is shocked when the door is answered by a woman (Natascha McElhone) holding the cat.
Alice is relieved when the woman explains she is Adam’s sister, Deborah. Deborah also explains that the cat’s name is Mr. Know-it-All.
It turns out this is Deborah’s place and Adam was just staying with her, so Mr. Know-it-All isn’t seen very much in the film but does turn up near the end when Adam goes to Deborah’s apartment in search of Alice.
Final Mewsings: Cats may know it all but they’re not telling.
