Synopsis: Introspective musician Blake (Michael Pitt playing a character based on Kurt Cobain) is feeling isolated and lonely under the weight of fame, drug addiction and professional obligations. Taking refuge at his secluded mansion he avoids contact with those looking for him and even those who are living in his house, choosing to spend what will be his his final hours alone.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): Wandering aimlessly around the large house, Blake enters a room where numerous kittens are busy exploring.
Blake stands at a chest of drawers as two of the kittens play at his feet.
The cries of the kittens attract his attention and he picks one up and carries it to a small bed in the corner.
Sitting on the bed, he gently strokes the kitten. The scene then moves on to another part of the house and the kittens don’t appear again.
Final Mewsings: To paraphrase Samuel Johnson, when you’re tired of cats you’re tired of life.
