Synopsis: A whimsical tale about a Parisian girl, Amélie (Audrey Tautou) who sets out to make a difference in the lives around her in her own fanciful way and ultimately brings about change for herself.
Featured Feline: The focus of the film is Amélie and the wide variety of colorful characters around her, including Philoméne (played by Armelle), a flight attendant who leaves her cat with Amélie when she goes out of town. It is explained in one moment how the cat enjoys overhearing the stories told to the children
The cat is seen in and around Amélie’s apartment throughout the movie, including a touching moment near the end.
Kitty Cameo: There is also a tabby cat in the apartment of Amélie’s downstairs neighbor and landlady, Mrs. Wells (Yolande Moreau). We see the cat clearly when Amélie sneaks into the woman’s apartment to steal some letters, which she’ll use to do something nice.
