Le roi des Champs-Élysées (1934)

by Linda Kay

Directed by: Max Nosseck

Synopsis: Buster Garnier (Buster Keaton) is having an unbelievable run of bad luck which culminates in being confused with an escaped criminal.

Kitty Cameo: Things are going so badly that Buster decides to end it all. He leaves a note for his mother and goes into the kitchen to turn on the gas stove. But first he hears a canary chirping in its cage and opens the window to set the cage outside. Then he hears a cat meowing and searches for the kitty, which he finds inside a cupboard.

He almost sets the black cat outside the window but then seems to remember the bird is there so he carries the kitty to the door to place him or her outside, which he does pausing only to shake the cat’s paw goodbye.
