Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: The true story of Derek Bentley (Christopher Eccleston), a slow-witted young man who fell in with a bad crowd and ended up on trial for murder.
Cat Cattle Call: The Bentley family lives in a small two-story home which is also the residence of numerous animals, including dogs, chickens, a turtle and at least three cats. Two of the cats are first seen in Derek’s smoke-filled bedroom along his sister Iris (Clare Holman) and some of the other animals.
Later a tabby cat is sitting on the back of a couch when Derek’s father (Tom Courtenay) enters.
Derek surprises his father with a present that turns out to be stolen. All three cats are there during this scene in which Derek’s mother (Eileen Atkins) is also present.
Finally two of the cats are seen in the final moments with the Bentley family in their living room.
Final Mewsings: Sometimes it’s better to just stay home with your cats.
