This review contains several Cartoonish Kitty Carnage Warnings!
Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A young mouse named Cheeser is tired of being treated like a baby by his mother and follows the devil inside him, which leads him into trouble in this Happy Harmonies cartoon.
Cartoon Cat: At the beginning of the cartoon, Cheeser is beating up a punching bag with a cat’s face drawn on it. His mother tells him to stop and go to bed.
Despite Cheeser’s inner angel telling him otherwise, Cheeser’s inner devil goads him into leaving the safety of the jug (his mousey home) and run around the house trying to steal cheese and smoke pipes. Cheeser even takes a peek at a dirty magazine! Eventually the devil mouse gets Cheeser drunk and the tiny mouse starts calling for the cat. When the gray tabby cat finally shows up he is not amused.
Cheeser takes one look at the cat and runs with the cat right behind. The cat rips the chair they land on and a spring shoots him into the air.
The cat crashes into the shattered vase pieces Cheeser broke earlier and the vase reassembles itself.
When Cheeser ducks into a boot, the cat leaps after him only to have the boot kick his backside.
At last Cheeser gets through the door that leads to the basement and returns to his jug home. The cat gets his tail caught in a bucket and is unable to get through the door.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t bother to consult their conscience when it comes to annoying mice.
Many thanks to Jon Kennedy for letting us know about the cat in this cartoon.
