Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Madeleine (Ann Todd) comes from an upper class Scottish family and as such she is terrified that her father should find out about her ongoing affair with a poor Frenchman named L’Anglier (Ivan Desny). Her fears are realized and then some when she is later accused of L’Anglier’s murder.
Kitty Cameo: In one scene L’Anglier calls on Madeleine and all but forces himself into the home. They stop in the kitchen and Madeleine repeats that she is no longer interested in marrying him. L’Anglier picks up a tabby cat and sits down on a chair to address Madeleine.
There is a threat in L’Anglier’s words and he looks every bit a villain sitting there stroking the cat, although the cat is only enjoying a good pet.
Unfortunately when L’Anglier gets angry he stands up and tosses the cat aside. Not roughly enough to be a Kitty Carnage Warning but certainly not nicely.
Final Mewsings: They should have called the cat to the witness stand!
